Event Name:  EVERYTHING ABOUT ASTRONOMY
Event Description:  THERE ARE A TOTAL OF 80 STUDENTS IN OUR SCHOOL, INCLUDING PRIMARY AND SECONDARY SCHOOL. IN PARALLEL TO THE CURRICULUM, ACTIVITIES WILL BE HELD WITH EACH GROUPS OF STUDENTS ABOUT DIFFERENT ASTRONOMY TOPICS.

Report on the Results:  Within the scope of World Space Week, the following activities, projects and a trip were carried out from 1st to 8th grades. The activities and projects were exhibited separately as primary and secondary schools. The projects were carried out with the STEAM approach, covering Turkish, English, Science, Mathematics, Visual Arts, Music, Japanese, Informatics, Robotics and Science courses at the school. All school students, teachers and parents visited the exhibitions. Space Week Board: 4th and 5th grade students conducted research on space and prepared a board. Space Week Brochure: Science club students designed the brochure introducing World Space Week using the Canva program. Space Song: Science club students wrote space-related song lyrics and composed artificial intelligence. Space pictures: All classes made space-themed pictures according to their own levels. Lego models: The robotics club designed models of a moon base, satellite and space probe. Recycling designs: Rocket models were designed using recycled materials. Mars Space Base Model: A living space on Mars was designed using the Tinkercad program. Astronomy in Japan: Our Japanese club conducted research on the Japan Aerospace Agency (JAXA) and Japanese astronauts. Sustainability studies: Based on this year's theme of "Climate Change and Space", students determined sustainability as the solution to climate change. They researched studies in this field and presented their own solutions. Telescope Model: A telescope model was made using Galileo Galilei's telescope as an example. Solar and Lunar Eclipses Model: A three-dimensional model of solar and lunar eclipses was created. Hologram: A hologram was made with simple materials. Images of the planets were viewed in three dimensions. Constellation lantern: A lantern model was designed in which the shapes of constellations were projected onto a surface. Layers of the Earth: The layers of the Earth were modeled with simple materials. Formation of Seasons: The Earth's axial tilt and rotational movement were modeled using wheel systems. Science Center Tour: The Nasreddin Hoca Science Center space exhibition in Izmir was visited.
