Event Name: | join-in activity: create a 3d model for a famous mountain on Mars |
Event Description: | Mail to Ted.Hoyer@gmx.de, join Facebook Group 'Marsmandala', register on the website or get an account on the website mountains-of-mars-in-3d.net to log in. Two Images of a popular mountain on Mars are investigated: one nadir image (PSP_003234_2210) and one image with the mountain in a perspective view (E03-00824). Get a face of the available triangular mesh and try to identify same features of the mountain in both pictures, determin its pixel coordinates in each picture with MS-Paint/IrfanView or mark that pixels in green (RGB=0,255,0) for reading out the coordinates per Java program. A wire model with nearly 150 Points is already available (PLY-format, Meshlab). During the week we want to increase the number of points of the mesh up to 1000. |
Promotional Image: | No Image. |
Report on the Results: | Each of your features will be posted as two image-snippets with your name as a contributor to the mesh on the Website. The refined 3d-model will texured and be presented in a video or animated gif-picture. |
