Event Name:  Basics for Space Course
Event Description:  09:00-17:30 This one day course provides participants with an introduction to the basic aspects of space, giving an overview of the technical, management and economic challenges and issues related to space activities/projects and a general overview of all facets of past, current and future space activities for the newcomer in the field. The course is intended for the non-technical audience who are joining a company or institute on the space sector and will provide a comprehensive though non-technical overview of all factors that impact the design, operation, financing and management of space projects and activities. The course will give an introduction to the following themes: space missions, space history, technology, launch vehicles and space management, economics and space policy. Participants should leave the course with a knowledge of: technical challenges in space; space history, how did we get here?; space applications; economics of space; managing space projects; space policy/law and the future of space. By the end of the course, each participant should have a good understanding of the basic elements of space.
