| Event Description: | From October 4th to 10th, as part of the global celebration of science and technology's contribution to improving humanity, the Department of Technology, led by Carlos Sanchez Barbero, is proud to host World Space Week at our school. During this week, students will engage in a series of interactive activities designed to explore flight and space exploration. Highlights include: Forces of Flight: Students will learn about the forces involved in flying an airplane and design their own models to reach specific speeds and altitudes. Rocket Lab: Participants will delve into the world of rocketry, designing suborbital, orbital, and deep-space rockets. Glenn Research Center: A deeper dive into aerodynamics, wind tunnels, and advanced rocket technology. Paper Airplane: Using resources from the National Air and Space Museum, students can build paper airplanes with unique features. Controlled Flight: For those daring enough, this session allows students to control and fly different aircraft such as a Cessna, a Corsair, and even an acrobatic plane! Through these engaging activities, students will not only gain knowledge but also hands-on experience with flight and space technology. |
