| Event Description: | Al-Qahman Elementary and Intermediate School, affiliated with the Hali Education Office in the Qunfudhah Education Department, implemented World Space Week under the slogan Space and Climate Change during the period from October 4 to October 10, 2024 AD, under the supervision of the activity pioneer, Ms. Shamsa Ahmed Al-Qahmani, with the participation of students, teachers, school administrators and parents, which is one of the most important global events that aims to spread awareness about the importance of space and the innovations and developments witnessed in this field. The week aims to shed light on the role of space in improving our daily lives and promoting scientific discoveries in various fields. The importance of Space Week / Space Week comes to celebrate human achievements in space exploration and to emphasize the importance of developing space technologies that contribute to improving human life. Through this occasion, educational workshops and lectures are organized targeting male and female students to enhance their knowledge of astronomical and space sciences. The school's activities included many educational and recreational activities that aim to enhance the interest of students and the community in space, including the announcement of the activation of World Space Week and the broadcasting of a radio broadcast for a full week from October 6 to October 10, the implementation of a workshop to watch the planets of the solar system using augmented reality technology, a drawing and coloring workshop, artistic and cultural competitions, interactive games about space, making models, designing video clips, bulletins, brochures, and murals, presenting scientific lectures about space and astronomy, watching documentaries about historical space flights, and preparing an art exhibition of what was implemented about Space Week. Then, the participants in the Space Week activities were honored. In conclusion, Space Week is a unique opportunity to spread knowledge of astronomical sciences and space technology and motivate students to participate in developing this vital field. |
