Event Description: | The 13th Primary School in Al-Kharj is proud to host a special event for World Space Week, celebrated from October 4th to October 10th, under the global theme “Space and Climate Change.” Throughout this week, students will explore the vital connection between space exploration and climate science. The event will kick off with a school-wide radio show, where students will present discussions on how space technologies—such as satellites and space stations—help scientists monitor Earth’s climate and tackle environmental challenges. The broadcast aims to inform and inspire the entire school community about the role of space in safeguarding our planet. In addition, a photo exhibition will be held, showcasing breathtaking images of Earth from space, as well as photos of space missions that have contributed to climate research. The exhibition will highlight the critical role space exploration plays in understanding and addressing climate change. To engage students creatively, a drawing activity will be organized, inviting them to express their artistic vision of how space technology can contribute to solving climate-related issues. This hands-on activity encourages students to reflect on the importance of space innovation in protecting Earth’s environment. The weeklong event aims to deepen students’ awareness and curiosity about the interplay between space and climate, encouraging them to think globally and act locally for the future of our planet. Event Highlights 1. School-wide Radio Broadcast • The event commenced with a lively radio broadcast where students presented various segments discussing how space technologies, such as satellites, help monitor Earth’s climate. • Students engaged their peers by sharing insights on significant space missions and how data collected from space aids scientists in combating climate change. 2.
