| Event Description: | Students got the information that Sun is the only star in our solar system. Participants understood that Sun is having differential rotation due to which Equator on Sun is moving in 25 Earth days whereas poles on Sun is moving at 35 Earth days. They also got to know that due to differential rotation there are spots created on Sun known as Sun Spots. These Sun Spots are bigger than our Earth. Due to the differential rotation only Solar Flares, Prominences and CME are being formed. After the session students made their own Solar Filter and got their personal Telescopes. Students also viewed the Sun with the help of Dobsonian telescope, Solar view Goggles, Pin hole Projector and 50mm Telescopes with safe methods. |
