Event Name:  What Would It Be Like to Live in Space?
Event Description:  1. Introduction and Motivation (15 minutes) Students will be presented with images and short video materials showing astronauts in space during everyday activities such as eating, sleeping, exercising, and conducting experiments in microgravity. After viewing, students will be encouraged to share observations and compare what they saw with life on Earth. Guiding questions will include: “How do people breathe in space?”, “How do they eat?”, “How do they sleep?”, “What would they miss if they lived on a spaceship?” 2. Group Task – Designing a Mini Space Habitat (35 minutes) Students will form small groups and will be assigned the task of creating a “Mini Space Habitat” using accessible materials such as colored paper, cardboard, modeling clay, or recyclable items. Each team will decide how to organize its habitat: areas for resting, eating, exercising, and conducting research. During this stage, creativity, collaboration, and problem-solving will be emphasized. 3. Role-Play – Life as an Astronaut (25 minutes) Selected students will act as astronauts and present their group’s space habitat to their classmates. They will explain how they would cope with the absence of gravity, how daily tasks would be carried out, and what solutions would be applied for adaptation. This stage allows students to practice oral expression, imagination, and teamwork. 4. Individual Reflection and Creative Expression (25 minutes) Each student will complete the sentence: “If I lived in space, I would like to…” and will create a drawing that illustrates their personal vision of life in an extraterrestrial environment. The activity combines written expression with artistic creativity, giving each child a chance to personalize the learning experience. 5. Sharing and Collective Reflection (20 minutes) Students will present their sentences and drawings to the class. Together, they will discuss what surprised them, what they discovered, and what they believe would be the hardest and most enjoyable aspects of living in space. The final reflection emphasizes collective learning and encourages students to value different perspectives. Total Time: 120 minutes
