| Event Description: | Concept Note: Rwanda Space Week 2025 | Space Park Rationale: World Space Week is an annual global celebration of space science and technology and their contribution to the betterment of humanity. Rwanda, through the Rwanda Space Agency, has consistently participated in this week with innovative events to promote the country's growing role in the space sector. For 2025, Rwanda aims to host a unique, inclusive event aligned with the country's space vision. This event aims to build excitement for STEM fields and introduces students to the possibilities within the space industry and show parents their children's talents & potential. Furthermore, it will provide a platform to market RSA’s products and services, presenting investment opportunities to potential investors. Objectives: To inspire and engage the younger generation in space science and technology. To raise awareness about RSA, the agency’s products and services, as well as the mandate To give visibility to our stakeholders, from the private sector to academia, and so on. To create new and strengthen existing relationships with stakeholders/partners To democratize space sciences through communication and access to experts Target Audience: High school, primary school, and nursery school students, as well as their parents. Private sector involved in the sector Potential investors Partners in the public sector All Rwandans Planned activities: Event details: Name: Space Park Theme: Living in Space (from World Space Week) Date & Time: Friday 10 October 2025, from 3 PM to 8 PM Venue: Zaria Court Format: Open to the public, promoted widely in Rwanda through schools, media, and science & tech communities. Space Park | Friday 10 October 2025 Key components: Virtual Reality Experience: Simulate missions to Mars or satellite deployments. Competition: Space-themed art, inventions, and essay contests with STEM-related prizes. Space Science Theatre: Entertaining and educational performances about space exploration. RSA to work with science clubs from different high schools to come up with a play/musical about space sciences and their evolution over time - humanizing space. Astronomy Lab: Mobile telescopes and the real telescope for stargazing and learning about stars & constellations. Role Model Talks: Japanese astronaut to share his experience and inspire students that it could be them too in the future, and steps to take to get there. Conclusion: The space park for World Space Week 2025 reflects Rwanda’s commitment to leveraging space science and technology for development and inspiring the future generations. This inclusive event will give RSA visibility, inspire the younger generations to go into space-related sciences, and highlight space as a fun sector to the public & stakeholders. |
